You have a strong intuition for designing flexible, performantdata querying frameworks and can architect systems that transform abstractlogic into optimized query plans across diverse database backends.You are not afraid to dive deep into large codebases, work with intricate logictrees, or optimize SQL for billion-row tables. You understand the art ofabstraction—how to create services and SDKs that are both powerful andintuitive to use. You have a collaborative mindset, a bias toward ownership,and the grit to deliver in high-scale environments. You have goodcommunication skills, a ‘can do’ entrepreneurial attitude, and a team-oriented mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and evolve a framework for turning dynamic, logic-driven filtersets (arranged in complex and/or trees) into performant query plansfor multiple backends.Translate filter trees with native object types, dynamic operators,parameters, and internal relationships into efficient queries for queryengines such asSingleStoreandTrino.Ensure that heterogeneous filters (e.g., leads, accounts, activities) canbe composed and executed to produce the correct unified outputobject type.Design and develop reusableSDKsand microservices that empowerother engineering teams to consume the query framework as a self-service platform.Build scalable solutions that are robust to high cardinality, massivedatasets (billions to trillions of rows), and distributed databasearchitectures.Identify optimization opportunities and contribute to the framework’sresilience, scalability, and developer usability.Partner closely with teams building Segments, Sales Intelligence,Workflows, and Analytics to ensure your services meet broad, evolvingneeds.Collaborate with Architects, Product Managers, and peer engineers todrive continuous improvements and architectural evolution.Required Qualifications and Must-Have SkillsBS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in data-intensivesystems.Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and softwarearchitecture.Deep experience in writing complex, optimized SQL across distributeddata stores.Hands-on expertise inPython(preferred), with willingness orexperience working inJava.Familiarity with database internals and performance tradeoffs forengines likeSingleStore,Trino,Hive,Spark, orDatabricks.Proven success in building systems that scale tobillions or trillions ofrecords.Comfort working with dynamic schema modeling, ORMs, and customDSLs.Proficient in cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and containerizedenvironments (Docker, Kubernetes).Nice to HavePrior experience developing query compilers, rule engines, or logicalplan optimizers.Knowledge of API design patterns, SDK usability, and self-serviceframeworks.Experience with feature flagging, A/B testing infrastructure, or internaldeveloper platforms.Background in analytics tooling, CRM/marketing automation platforms,or large-scale data enrichment pipelines.Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions and testautomation strategies.Interpersonal AttributesYou are a system thinker who enjoys building platforms that empowerother developers.You can articulate complex logic clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.You take ownership and pride in your work, pushing toward elegant,maintainable solutions.You’re curious, adaptable, and open to evolving with the framework asit grows in scope and complexity.You value teaching and mentoring, and you’re capable of guidingothers through architectural tradeoffs and best practices.Base Salary Range:$175,389.38 - $257,237.75. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to work location and experience. The base salary is one component of 6sense’s total compensation package for this position. Other compensation may include a bonus program or commission plan, and stock options if approved by 6sense’s board.
