We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated  Systems Engineer  to join our IT Operations team. This role is critical to the support, optimization, and ongoing innovation of our virtual infrastructure and systems environment, with a strong focus on Nutanix and Citrix Cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience in managing enterprise-grade virtual platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and security within a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, manage, and optimize enterprise-grade infrastructure with a primary focus on  Nutanix (AHV and Prism Central)  and  Citrix Cloud (including DaaS, Citrix Gateway, and WEM) .
  • Troubleshoot complex system and application issues within a multi-tenant Citrix environment and drive resolution independently or with vendor support as needed.
  • Support and maintain enterprise virtualization, storage, and compute environments, ensuring uptime, security, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to evaluate, implement, and support infrastructure initiatives including system migrations, upgrades, and patching.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and change control.
  • Contribute to the hardening and security posture of core systems using industry best practices, including endpoint security, multifactor authentication (MFA), and data protection strategies.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, business continuity efforts, and regular backup testing.
  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support to the IT Service Desk and other technical teams.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Nutanix (AHV, Prism Central, Foundation, and Move).
  • Deep working knowledge of Citrix Cloud services and architecture (Citrix DaaS, Gateway-as-a-Service, Profile Management, etc.).
  • Proven experience administering and maintaining Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise DNS/DHCP infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with hybrid environments integrating on-prem infrastructure with Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft 365.
  • Strong scripting or automation skills (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Experience in an environment with  healthcare regulatory compliance (HIPAA)  and data security governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred/Beneficial Skills:

  • Familiarity with  Entra ID (Azure AD)  and  Microsoft Intune  for identity and endpoint management.
  • Experience with enterprise backup systems (e.g., Veeam) and monitoring platforms (e.g., LogicMonitor, PRTG).
  • Exposure to  Zero Trust  architecture or NIST Cybersecurity Framework implementation.
  • Working knowledge of  Jira Service Management , and comfort operating within ITIL frameworks.
  • Certifications such as  NCP-MCI, Citrix Certified Associate/Professional, Microsoft AZ-104 , or equivalent are a strong plus.

Work Environment & Expectations:

  • Primarily remote with occasional onsite requirements depending on project or support needs.
  • On-call participation may be required as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

  • 7 years of hands on experience as a Systems Engineer in a 200+ node Windows 2003/2008 shop, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Server Platforms including Active Directory, Group Policy, Terminal Services or MCSE/MCITP certifications
  • Extensive experience working in more than one area of infrastructure technology (network, servers, storage, virtualization, Citrix, desktop)
  • Must have experience maintaining one or more infrastructure elements i.e., virtualization, storage, and Citrix. Should have qualified and related work experience in a comparable complex, high tech and fast paced network environment
  • Expertise in installing, configuring, maintaining and implementing network system components.   

Individuals with a 2-year degree and an additional 5 years of relevant experience can be considered. Those candidates without a degree will be required to have additional relevant experience for consideration.

Additional advanced certifications relevant to Infrastructure environment (e.g., VMware Certified Professional-VCP, Citrix Engineer, CCNA, etc.) preferred.
