Job Summary:

As a Senior Backend Engineer , you will be a key contributor to our platform and products, ensuring scalability, innovation, and excellence. You will work in x-functional scrum teams encompassing engineers, quality assurance, DevOps, data science, and content creation building AI tutors that help millions of students. This role requires technical expertise and a passion for delivering impactful solutions that enhance learning outcomes.

What You Will Do:

Design & Development: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure backend microservices using Node.js, Python, and/or .NET Core on AWS.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional scrum teams to deliver impactful features aligned with product strategy and priorities.

Execution Excellence : Drive end-to-end development, from technical planning and architecture to coding, testing, and deployment, with a focus on quality, performance, and meeting deadlines.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of engineering processes, promoting Agile and Lean principles to enhance operational efficiency and team productivity.

User Focus : Build backend systems with the user in mind, incorporating feedback and data to deliver solutions that have measurable impact on education outcomes.

Learning & Growth: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, cloud technologies, and best practices, sharing insights and contributing to the team’s tech nical growth

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience, including designing and building scalable microservices.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality, reliable, and maintainable backend systems in SaaS or EdTech environments.
• Extensive experience coding in modern languages such as Node.js, Python, and/or .NET Core.
• Familiarity with system architecture, demonstrating the ability to design scalable, resilient, and secure software systems.

Technical Expertise:

• Strong background in cloud-based architectures, APIs, and modern software development practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.
• Deep understanding of AWS services, including but not limited to Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, and CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with educational technologies, learning platforms, or similar domains is a strong plus.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
